Apply for a grant

How to apply

A large part of the GFCF’s grantmaking is done through a closed call for applications. However, we do offer occasional open calls for concept notes and are always ready to respond to inquiries about grant opportunities.

Before submitting a concept note, please first consult the GFCF guidelines on overview and eligibilitygeographic restrictions as well as selection criteria. If your organization is eligible to apply for a GFCF grant, please submit an online grant inquiry using the fields on the right-hand side of this page.

Alternatively, applicants may submit a preliminary concept note of no more than one page by e-mail to Wendy Richardson ( This letter should include responses to each of the fields contained in the online grant inquiry form on this page.

After reviewing submissions, the GFCF will then determine eligibility. If the initial grant inquiry satisfies our criteria, we will send applicants a longer, online application form for completion.

Initial grant inquiries may be submitted in English, French, Spanish and Russian, but we currently accept final applications only in English.
